I love frequenting independent bookstores, and I liked my visit to Flashlight books as well. They’re a small store so they’ve a small yet solid collection of books. It was great to see some classics on the shelves as well. They’ve a kids and YA section as well, and it was fun browsing that as well. They also sell some literary tchotchkes, which is also nice. The lady working the register greeted us as we entered the store, so I could glean they’ve good customer service as well. They’re conveniently located in the heart of downtown Walnut Creek. Ample parking(both street and in the nearby garages) for reasonable price is available as well. I’ll be back here when I’m in the Walnut Creek area. Support your independent bookstores! Visit them, buy from them, get involved! :)

We sometimes have a very small selection for children, though we are currently out. If there's a title you're looking for, we're happy to order it in. Thank you!
We don't buy used books or magazines; you might try some of the used bookstores in the area, but I imagine you might have the best luck with craigslist or the NextDoor app.
We do not carry antique books, only new. You might check out "Swan's Fine Books" - they're a Walnut Creek based bookstore that specializes in rare and antique books.
