My friend and I went to a garden tour and she wanted to eat lunch here. It was LATE like 1:40 in the afternoon and the hostess didn't seem to like that we had not made a reservation. Thus, instead of giving us seating at the window and the gorgeous view we had a table across from those (also a gorgeous view but she could have given us seating at the window). The restaurant was almost entirely empty when we left). It took quite a long time to even get water for our table and longer for our drinks. We both ordered the pretzel bun cheese burger. It was delicious but huge, I cut mine in half and ate that. Friend took half of hers home, I did not because the burger was quite messy and wet with large lettuce and tomato pieces (fine but should have been drier putting on the burger. The fries we both agreed, were good but not crisp. This is because (as my late Mother always said) the grease wasn't HOT enough and they weren't cooked QUICKLY. We both felt our waitress was lacking in a friendly welcoming spirit, more a 'I'm too good to be here' demeanor. Too bad for the negatives; however, we enjoyed our drinks and food and good conversation.....

First time experience! Went for a birthday dinner and expected to get the typical sub-par “fancy dining” meal but was blown away with both our meals. I got the swordfish and my wife got the Mediterranean plate. Swordfish was great and the Mediterranean plate was better!! So much flavor. Only a four star because we were charged $17 for a $12 glass of white wine and we did not receive side salads with either of our entrees. We will be back for sure!

The food was absolutely amazing. However, there was a liquor cabinet behind my friend, and she was asked to leave her seat 4 times during dinner for the wait staff to retrieve bottles. For what we paid, we would not return again because of those multiple interruptions. Still it’s a beautiful restaurant with top-notch food.

Such a special place! We come for every anniversary ❤. The view of the Delaware is romantic. The food is excellent. Being in an establishment that began in 1745 feels like dining with American royalty. Bucks at its best. We'll always come back!
