New River Gorge Visitor Center

This place is great! There is a small gift shop, ample parking and spectacular views. I love the history here and how the National Park system is incorporating that same history by not impeding on the Appalachian culture and allowing life to continue as it has for centuries. Here you will also find an observation area that overlooks the valley below. There are a lot of steps, so be prepared. Mountains can be seen stretching endlessly and there is a great view of the New River Gorge bridge. You can even walk a catwalk below the bridge if you dare. Great place, always love coming here. Make sure to support the park by adhering to the rules and picking up a souvenir wouldn’t hurt either.

This is one of my most favorite spots to visit in West Virginia! The restrooms are very clean, there are vending machines, and a cute little gift shop! If you are traveling through, you cannot miss these views! Breathtaking is a severe understatement!! No charge to visit the Observation Deck, but there are many flights of stairs down, which are *not* wheelchair accessible.

Just a regular visitor center for a national park. There is a small gift shop with park merchandise and a nice view of the New river from the center. They also play an 11 minute video of the history of the region every 30 minutes.

Another spectacular national park. Clean. Beautiful. Great museum and movie inside. Wonderful path to enjoy the bridge views. Then a lot of information shared to enjoy the gorgeous park. Great waterfalls and scenery along the station road tour and so much more. Even in Chilly March.
