Such a hidden gem on Mare Island. The cocktail menu is very unique. They don't have a huge variety of food, but let me tell you, moving here from North Carolina, they have nailed southern cuisine. The biscuits are amazing! My husband said the spicy chicken sandwich was spot on and super tasty, and the fried pickles were also a hit. Having a small menu and doing it well is a super A+++. The tables have a QR code for service which is also very convenient. I would also suggest taking a tour and tasting.

Cool atmosphere, but don’t come for the food! Fried Chicken was decent. Fried pickles weren’t great. But it was the BLT Salad that disappoints, the Blah Lettuce and Tomato (okay, there were 3 of them), was worse than Denny’s. The bulk packaged iceberg… not even the advertised romaine was unappetizing. It even included the bulk chopped root of the iceberg… yummy. The Sazerac was okay, I probably should have went with a neat pour of their really decent American Whiskey. Luckily it was a beautiful warm day to walk it off.

Great experience. Lots of fun things in the works here with the bar and food options.

Purchased 3 Gallons of Savage & Cooke RX 20/20 Hand Sanitizer from the West Los Angeles Ace Hardware @ $34/gal. Opened one of the Gallon containers last night only to find that the product has virtually no odor to it at all. It essentially smells like Water. We compared it to a new bottle of Purell (and) to a new bottle of cheap dollar store 50% Rubbing Alcohol. Those products were both overwhelmingly and obviously Alcohol based products. The Savage & Cooke Hand Sanitizer is (supposed) to be an 80% Alcohol based product. Also, since none of the containers have ANY type of tamper proof cap (or) seal under the cap, there is no way to be sure the product wasn’t tampered with after it left their Distillery. Called Savage and Cooke. Spoke w/ Michael the Manager (he answers the phone - must be a very small operation). He couldn’t have been less caring or more condescending. He essentially said “that’s the way it’s supposed to smell” and “no one tampered with anything”. So basically, Savage and Cooke wants everyone to know that they are 100% certain that their product was not tampered with at any of the 4-6 points between their Distillery and the end user. At no point did Michael ask that we take the product back to where we bought it in order to have someone there look into it further. Essentially, Michael doesn’t give a #%@#. I think that the Government, in an understandable panic, loosened up existing rules and restrictions, so that Distillers could begin to manufacture desperately needed Hand Sanitizing Products. Unfortunately, in addition to a number of legitimately concerned and patriotic Distillers out there, it also opened the door to some unethical companies looking to simply profit off of the Pandemic and the desperation of the public. These products should all be subject to mandatory regulatory testing in order to be certain that the public is getting not only what they pay for, but equally if not more importantly, that they are getting a product that they can trust their and their family’s health and safety to.
