I'm not sure if this would be considered 100% my own fault or not.. I pulled into the parking spot directly next to the FedEx drop-box. I did think to myself and realize "geeze this is a pretty tight spot up next to the drop-boxes". I continued to get out of my car anyhow and walked to my back door where my package was located (that was being delivered and put into the drop-box) so I lifted the car door handle and started to pull the door open and then moved my hand over to the edge of the door to finish opening it the rest of the way. Well, when I did that.. my fingers where smashed in between my car door and the edge of the fedex drop-box. I seriously thought my fingers on my left hand were cut off. I started screaming and wrapped my hand in my shirt and applied intense pressure. All I could feel was extreme burning/numbness/throbbing. I couldnt think straight. So the 1st thing that came to mind was to call my fiance whom was at work. He talked me into calming down and looking at my hand to see if I needed medical attention. My thumb and my pinky where fine. It was the other 3 finger the were hurt. They were not broken or cut off like I thought. Definitely bruised and swollen. They swelled so fast that it swelled right around my Engagement ring. I got so scared because I couldn't get it off. My finger started turning purple. It was awful. Let's just say I will never park my vehicle next to any kind of metal structure and go to open my door like a jackass.🤦‍♀️🥺
