Great park with a huge area for picnic and barbecue. There are two big parking lots free, but you can also park on the sides of the street. Nice playground and good view of the lake.

Surpised again by this naturally beautiful area right in the middle of the city. The day was a little chilly, but when we got next to the lake it was so super cold. The park was definitely busy, but not crowded. The park is huge and has a really lot of activities and trails to explore. As we walked, we found wildlife, fishing areas, fly casting practice areas, a wheelchair accessible baseball field (so proud to see this!), a playground, built in BBQ grills, pedal boats and bikes for rent, and then tons of food/art/balloon vendors. I did have questions for the guy cuddling the wild lake goose, but I was in a bit of a hurry so maybe next time 😆 🤣 This is such a great place to hang out with your family, a date, or even just by yourself ♥️

It's a nice place if you wanna see some water and feel a bit of nature. They have some little boats you can rent and go onto the lake if you're interested. Bikes are also available for renting. Lots of little vendors with water, frozen treats, fruits, chips and one guy had some grilled pork/chicken on a stick that was amazingly good (I had the pork). Was kinda crowded and hard to find shade. I thought there would be more trees and it really should be. Not sure why they don't let more trees grow there. Restrooms were horrible...luckily I'm a guy and only had to pee...I feel bad for the ladies. I warned some females as I was leaving and could hear them scream as they walked in. It was funny but it wasn't funny at the same time. 😐

A nice park where you can take your family and pets. A lot of activities can be done here and they have on-site grill available for everyone to use. Decent pathway around the lake (about 1.3 miles) with some elevation - perfect for jogging, walking, or running. I just hope that bird droppings will be cleaned because it can be slippery when you unknowingly stepped on one. Playgrounds are available for kids - fun activities like slides, swings, etc. Vendors are available around the place making it more lively - they sell various stuff ranging from food items to toys and balloons.

No reservation necessary unless you want to reserve a spot under one of the shaded areas. I'd recommend getting there early and just set-up so no one beats you to your preferred spot.
Yes it is the best time to go to the lake is in the morning and around the trails as well! Feels nice this time of year although some times there is a light fog above.
There are grills, but you can also bring, you have a lot of space and ample parking, you will enjoy it if you go with your family or friends. Take care of yourself!
Yes it is but it isn't a dog park where you can let off the leash. That park is very close though.
Today was very terrible in Balboa Lake because of very Hi speed wind and fishing was almost impossible from early morning till late afternoon we got only on very small catches and released
Canoes no but you can rent a boat at the park. Yes you are allowed to fish.
https://wheelfunrentals.com/ca/van-nuys/lake-balboa-boats/ Looks like 9 am according to their website.
https://www.japanese-city.com/calendar/events/index.php?eID=35204 Around March 30th....but check out this link....
The park is suitable for passing your pet on a bicycle. Walk with a peace of mind. It is a place to walk. to think or have a dialogue. And dialogue. It's a landscape. Charming
No swimming.
Yes and they even have a dumping area for hot coals so you don't just dump it anywhere, but i would recommend you use your own BBQ pit anyways.
Yes, but warning on weekends you need to set your tables & Birthday supply's ..Early ( A must ) great place for party's!
You sure there isn't because i see people with basketballs all around the park.but i haven't seen a court though
Yes it does , and i believe you can reserve might be best but not sure if needed.
Not that I know of. As long as theirs no alcohol. You should be fine
You can reserve a table, or it's first c one.
There is no specific information on their site regarding this so I would say that it's allowed so long as it's not intrusive or otherwise against the park's stated policies.
Good to know
I did not see anyone with there own but they have was you can rent
Yup frist come first serve
Yes
They do
I did see people hosting events like that when I was there last weekend, but idk what the official rule is on that at that moment. If it's less than 20 people I'd just do it but if it's a large event I'd Google the current rules on this just in case.
No
If you can be a piñata but not a jumper
They open at 8 they close at 8 I am not sure
There are no pools or showers in the park.
Dogs are allowed at the park. They have bbq grill ready to use. You can bring your own and set it up wherever you want but not near the lake and child recreation places.
Yes
Brother, this park as many others, they close at sunset. In summer, of course is another story.
There are paddle boats which the park operates, however no private boats.
I belive IT is Open. IT is localesd in Encino and there are no fires in Encino.
No! They would said to you there is guard they take care the park.
Just like anywhere else in the state, you DO need a fishing license.. fish and wildlife does make there rounds here and there but not as often as in other areas and lakes..
Yes, we have seen some do that.
Sorry. That is exactly what I had in mind...you understood me correctly. It is possible or not...🤔
Not sure, but I have seen some guys take their own little boat and fish
Yes you can but I'm not sure
I have seen people composed but I do not know if they have to have any permission
Like they say, free for first come, first serve. It is a nice park.
Yes you can and is a beautiful park
Park Hours: Sunrise to Sunset Lifeguard Hours: 9:00 am to Dusk Fishing: During Park Hours Boating: 9:00 am to Sunset, 365 days a year (weather permitting); last one-hour rental goes out one hour before sunset.
The only thing you need to ask permission for is if you use one of their benches that has a roof for a party, that you would have to pay. But if you will just do your party on any area it's free and you don't need to ask for permission to put your tables and chairs or your jumper.
No you don't need permission.. you have to get there early to save a spot for your party and clean up after your done with party. I recently saw someone getting married at the park with chairs for guest and alter🥰
I suppose so, but have never seen anyone do so here
Hard to say. Anywhere from 1 mile to 11/2 mile. Depends on how you walk or run it
Yes, but be sure to get your permit first, the permit office is located right in front of the golf course!
I think 25 la ora
You can fish, must release. Can not keep the fish. Plus it’s reclaimed water so you won’t want to keep them!
Why do people assume that pit bulls are very dangerous animals. Don’t go me working there are some out there that are dangerous. But if you really think about it it’s really the owner. If the owner put time in training the dog they wouldn’t have that problem. But everyone have there own way of looking at things
Not sure but the rent Swan boys you can pedal
And carp
Yes u can there are trails and a bike path that allows u to park on the street and walk back into the park
You can bring your own
Yes you can just need to get there early enough to find a good spot
There are two locations. One near the playground and the other where the boat rentals are. Closer to the golf course
I have seen bounce houses for kids parties and plenty of BBQs. Should be okay.
I'm not sure about bike's, but do check out the Swan Paddle boats, they rent at 11an hr for adults, 6 for kids.. pretty fun👍
Probably during Spring season.
Yes you can
😒 of course not!! Dont be...
I didn't see anyone swimming n there are so many ducks in the water.
I would think that lake Balboa would be open on Christmas eve and Christmas Day
Yes at especific areas
I believe not
Yes you can fish there. The lake has tilapia, carp and catfish. Not a lot, but they are there. Also, you need a fishing license to fish there. Don't know about fishing hours.
What is the question?
Yes you can.
