This is the first comic shop I ever went to. I was 12 years old and believe I got a free Dazzler #1 from Janine way back in 1983. As a teenager I would spend some of my paycheck here on a weekly pull list when you could get 20 comics or more for 20 bucks. I built a heck of a collection shopping here over the years. I even sold a lot of it back to them when I moved to California in the mid 90’s. I haven’t been around here in a long time as I live out of state but will be in the Utica/Rome area for the next 8-12 months and will be stopping by the best comic shop around with the best owner ever. I don’t know who is around anymore. I only really remember Janine and the guy Joe who I was decently acquainted with. I never felt like a customer here. It was always a more friendly welcoming atmosphere to me. See you soon, Ravenswood.

Ravenswood is my favorite place for Comics. They have a great selection and a very knowledgeable staff. I highly suggest this place whether you have been collecting for years or are just getting into comics.

The experience of being there was awe inspiring. I was so lost in all the different comic books that the store clerk asked me a question 3 times before I realized that he was talking to me. They have everything there from collectors comics to hot off the press, some graphic novels, and a few RPG gaming essentials. More than worth a visit to get your inner nerd/geek on. And, of course, I would visit the store on May 4th.

Prices varied. Friendly staff. Collections ranged all over the place, catering to any number of collectors. They also had sleeves, cases, and storage containers for collectible cards. Caters more to the comics than cards or collectible figurines. Will definitely be coming back.
