Just scouting, I found this secluded retreat. It's a very small lake on the west side of DeSoto, KS (bigger than a farm pond). Includes a covered seating area, a play area, parking, and hiking trails. Nice, just small.

Very well maintained hiking/biking trails and 5K cross country runs. 4 looped trails which can be combined. Great in any season. Looped paved path around the lake is great for walking, skating, and biking with youngsters.

A very nice park/lake.....well done like most of the JOCO lakes, it's well manicured and has beautiful pathways and facilities. Slightly disappointed with the playground, which would be fine for older kids. But as a mostly rope based area, it's definitely not for younger children. Also, the top of the "bridge" on the playground has quite a drop, again, be watchful of younger (read: 6 years old or younger children).

Really awesome park! By far the best park in the area. Lots of stuff to do. Very clean with little to no trash. Not incredibly busy either. We love coming out here in the evening and enjoying the nature. You've got a playground, lake for fishing and boating, a paved walkway, along with dirt trails. This is a very peaceful park.

Questions & Answers

Hows the fishing?

My friends and I love fishing here, during the summer my friends and I smashed the for some odd reason extremely beautiful largies, my friend hooked into a 2.5' catfish, he was young so he wasnt to heavy. Easily the most enjoyable and fun fight he's had (his words). The only issue is we've never had them bite on artificial baits. Others seem to have on fishbrain but houshould try to go with live if at all possible. Live bait is simple cheap and you know if they're not biting it's because they aren't hungry. Strongly recomend

How long is the unpaved hiking/biking trail north of the lake?
