We enjoyed a beautiful day at Shawnee State park in June. When approaching Turkey Creek Lake, I was met with an ethereal cloud of swallowtail butterflies, like being in a fluttering snow globe. We enjoyed our lunch at the lodge. Catfish with an excellent homemade tarter sauce. Check their website for catfish buffet dinners.

Gorgeous State Park. State campground -electric sites only. Lodge is beautiful, such history can be seen and felt throughout the lodge. 2nd floor general access balcony with tables/chairs lend to views over the valley and an amazing pool. Great trails and small lake with opportunity to kayak or canoe. The marina with boat launch into Ohio River is not far from the lodge.

Great state park to visit to get away from the hustle of life. Fish at the lakes or creeks, lots of hiking trails or just set back and relax for a few days.

We came for a bird-watching tour. Jenny, the naturalist there, along with another naturalist and a bird watching guide, did not disappoint. They have a lot of events there that are worth going to. The picture is across the Ohio River at Court Street Landing. The tiny crooked tree you see has an Eagle's nest in the top of it.

I think they have two easy ones. About a 1/2 mile each turkey creek nature trail and park loop I believe.

Yes, plenty of places 2 fish. Bit crowded though so you might have 2 travel a bit to find a good spot.

It depends on what cabin rental company you go through. They have deals all the time. Some are like $145.00 a night & up. But like I said just check for deals & specials.
