I used Two Story flooring for all my flooring installations, they will send you to RAYO, to order carpet or vinyl and they will pick it up and install it, always had good experiences with them, good installations

Fast, friendly, knowledgable. Sales are all ex-installers so they can give you pointers on installing. Only time will tell on the quality of the product. But, so far so good.

I don't work for Rayo but do business with them regularly. They generally have material in stock and anything they dont have they can order for you. Your best bet is to go in and talk to them so they can help you with your specific needs

We got a quote for laminate flooring from Home Depot, and they said because our house is so old, that we would have to have the vinyl tile under the carpet tested for asbestos. Is this a law? Would you require this? I wouldn't even know who to call

You can capsulate the asbestos. It is easy to identify. Just don't disturb it. It is only a hazard once it is grinded into materials small enough to breathe in. Since you want to do laminate I would not remove but would apply a liquid material to go over it that would harden, then install the laminate. I would only do this if you plan on staying in the house. If you plan on moving then don't do anything and let it be the problem of the person moving in.
