I am a patient at ManorCare. This is to recognize my favorite nurse/CNA, Shavoné P. Shavoné is the most caring of all the nurses there. She understands her patients’ many needs, and makes sure that all of them are fulfilled. Her knowledge and attention to detail are unsurpassed and she has gained my full trust in all areas.

I've waited a few weeks to write this review. I wanted time to process the care my mom received here. My thoughts haven't changed. I wish I could give zero or negative stars. It was awful. PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR FAMILY MEMBER BE PLACED HERE! I'll start with the positive. It was clean. Once you were able to get through to someone the nurses/caregivers were nice enough. The negatives - pretty much everything else. The food, the lack of communication, the lack of promised therapy etc. The biggest problem comes from the administration. They don't care, don't return calls and tell you lies. I was told the two week isolation and the God awful visiting policy were a result of COVID. It may have been at one point but I called 3 other facilities in a 5 mile radius and NONE of them had the same policy , they did at one point but the restrictions had been lifted. At Manor Care only 28 residents out of 117 were able to have a visitor. It took a severe toll on my mom's mental health. As a recent stroke victim, depression was already an issue. This place made it worse. I was yelled at when I suggested it wasn't a COVID policy any longer but a corporation policy. I left several messages for the case worker to call me - they never did. (My dad thinks her name was Monica but not sure). The "best" part? Manor Care decided that my mom would not improve any further (after 3 weeks - two of them in isolation) they told my Dad he had 3 days to get her out. This was on a Thursday afternoon. She had to be out by Sunday. If she wasn't - they were going to charge $750 per day. The following week, my father called to tell them that he wasn't satisfied with the treatment my mom received there. They told him she was "difficult". Probably, after all she just had a stroke and the isolation took a toll. Isn't that the service they offer? Hopefully you have a choice where to put your relative, if you do, PLEASE do your research and choose somewhere else.

Do not let your loved ones stay her. I'm trying to pull my mom out. They take anywhere from 30 mins to an hour to help when you hit the red button for help. By the time they get to a patient most likely be too late. Their short staffed likes that's an excuse. They say she needs 24 hour care when she at best getting part time which is medicine and meals. Beware of this place.
