Updated 8.13.22. Since they stopped serving outside the quality seemed to decline. Drinks were bad and tamales are not the same at all. Not sure what is wrong with their margaritas but they taste like soap. See other reviews. Feel bad that the fire shut them down for a bit. Hopefully they get a fresh re-start. Old review. Great food! Please keep the patio area after Covid. Update..5/25..Tent has expanded! Thank you. Also, try the beef tamales. Trust me...like home made. White, moist masa, never dry. Everyone there is always very happy and helpful.

It's okay. Always crowded, so others clearly like it... but all of the food is very bland - not much flavor. Ranch Market (in the back of the grocery store next door) is WAY better (and cheaper). There's no way this is the best Mexican option in San Clemente.

La Siesta has been my family’s favorite Mexican restaurant since I was a kid. Their salsa is the absolute best in the world. All their food is fantastic. They have catered parties for us, both large and small, and always impress. I highly recommend La Siesta to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant! Always delicious with generous portions. The enchiladas are actually full of meat and I recommend topping at least one with their yummy mole. I also tried the chili cucumber margarita last night and I will be back for more. Thank you to the friendly staff for taking good care of us and our littles on a busy night!
