Hello Howard, You are required to have an FSC (Firearm Safety Certificate) which you get by taking a 30 question basic gun safety/knowledge test. You usually take this after you have purchased the firearm. You also have to fill out your ATF Form 4473 and your DROS (background). This is also after you have purchased the firearm.
