I absolutely love this vet. I started coming to them about 4 or 5 years ago when I got my dog and they're always so patient with her and accommodate her needs. She's dog aggressive and they do everything to make sure she has a safe appointment and help ease my anxiety. I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else.

The staff at Covina Animal Hospital is the absolute best. They always answer my questions and talk through all the procedures and next steps with care. I am so grateful that they provide the best care to my dog! Truly amazing.

My Bucks first appointment was a very pleasant experience. The staff was kind and the vet was excellent. She took very good care of my Buck and made him feel comfortable on his first exam. Buck cannot wait for his next appointment. He especially loved the treats and the attention he received.

This place is awesome, it's always clean and they really do care about our pets. They offer calming bandanas if needed. They also work with you and your pet to help make you and your pet feel comfortable. Yes it is a bit costly, but the services you and your pet get is worth every penny. CAH team works well together and they are all very knowledgeable and help you with any questions you may have.

Questions & Answers

Doss this hospital provide dental care for cats? At my previous veterinary clinic, they suggested my cats needed teeth cleaning because they had tartar buildup. I'd like to know so I can help my cats have good dental hygiene.

Hello Kayla, Yes we do! We believe oral hygiene is critical to helping pets live longer, happier, and healthier lives. You can find more information at https://www.covinaanimalhospital.com/dentistry . Do they offer affordable spaying?

Melissa Hickman | Sep 6, 2021
Paula Hansen | Sep 6, 2021

I'm sorry, I don't know, but it seems unlikely. When we needed affordable spaying (about 15 years ago), we were told about an organization that performed spaying quite affordably, one Sunday a month, in Downey. The price made it worth the drive and inconvenience of missing church. Interestingly, a week down the line, that dog's stitches started to open, and we took her to Covina Animal Hospital. They took care of her and stitched her back up for free, even though I made sure they knew that they hadn't performed the original surgery! (Let me look for that dog's medical file...) The organization was called SINGITA. Maybe Downey Animal Shelter can tell you whether SINGITA still exists. When I googled it, I found articles about Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, and when I did find their website (SINGITA.ORG), my anti-virus software warned me against visiting that website!

Does anyone know if they spay and neuter bunnies and what the price is ?

Do they take walk-ins?

John Bertsche | Sep 7, 2018
Covina Animal Hospital | Sep 7, 2018

We see walk-ins based on emergency or need of care as well as time of day. Our doctors are typically fully booked with appointments each day so there will be a significant wait time if your reason for visiting is non-emergent. Regarding time of day, if you have an emergency within 2-hours of our closing time, we will assist with stabilizing your pet and then transfer you to a local emergency clinic that is open overnight. Feel free to give us a call if you have any other questions or need to make an appointment!
