I didnt know what to expect at first being white and new to L.A. The workers at NU are extremely friendly and nice. Indeed, I'm always greeted with a smile and a friendly good morning! As far as price and food quality you def get what you pay for here but I've gotten some of the best deals on quality meat and produce I've ever seen.

I like coming here once in a while for my Bully Pit dog. She recently had a birthday, and her favorite food in the whole world is roasted pig snout. This is the only market around me that sometimes has it, along with other authentic Mexican foods like banana leaves, Mexican pastries, etc. I"m not sure I'd get the prepped foods, the the meat selection seems pretty fresh.

It is true I have tried it and it is not good at all, it is very dry and without flavor that gets stuck in the throat (I am Mexican and I like to try Salvadoran food and the truth is that I was disappointed with the aforementioned Salvadoran quesadilla and they are right to discredit the food of that country. Do you have the receipt? Go to the store and get a refund. If not, call the health department. Make your complaint, file a complaint and I hope they read this so that they are not so cheeky. The big stores give away what is expired as lost and throw it away, these stores make it cheap, sad reality. 😢
