My girlfriend and I recently moved to Palm Desert after the death of my girlfriend’s father. The move hasn’t been easy. I’ve worked sporadically in the last couple of months and my gf has been handling her fathers estate. I have had a storage unit with Extra Space for about five years. Inglewood and Wilmington. Since moving into Wilmington storage our finances haven’t been great. We’ve fallen behind on our storage rent many times but ALWAYS paid it. At this time we are behind on our rent again but it will be paid. We were also planning on renting a storage from Extra Space in Palm Desert and moving from Wilmington to PD. This morning we rented a unit online and paid for it. At the same time I tried to pay the Wilmington storage. I received a call from the Manager at the PD Storage who informed me that the didn’t wish to rent to us because we were consistently late on our rent. Just like that he severed a relationship that I had with Extra Space storage. His attitude was judgmental and condescending and insulting. I will do my best to steer anyone away from renting an Extra Space storage unit. I understand being late is not good but businesses need to look at a persons circumstances before passing judgement. PLEASE DON’T RENT FROM EXTRA SPACE STORAGE!!!!!
