Very small but free and nice kind of tribute to one of the greatest fairy tale writers. Inside a book store. If you are in town stop by.

I enjoy museums. I'd heard of this small museum the week before our visit. Hans Christian Anderson was a brilliant storyteller, with a vivid imagination. I've added pictures of a handful of stories to his credit. This museum includes a detailed history of his life, interests, connections (social, etc. ), with photographs, a small model of his childhood home, and various collections of works based on his titles (e.g. an entire glass case with memorabilia of "the little mermaid"). The museum is located above a bookshop. Entrance is free. While we were there, another 4-5 small groups attended. A popular place, considering its size.

Loved the collection of Hans Christian Anderson memorabilia, letters, cut-outs and collectible books. Quite a man... whose work will always be cherished. Book store staff was especially kind.

This museum is free to visit and it is quite small on the second floor of the nice bookstore. It has Hans Christian Andersen's books in many different languages as well a memorabilia such as letters and books and other items related to the author and his time. You can buy interesting books and games and toys at the bookstore too. Plan less than one hour to spend there as it is quite small.

It's not handicap accessible.
I didn't ask. Dogs don't belong inside a store/shop. Many people have allergies to cats and dogs, be considerate and leave your pets at home.
Yes, the museum is free, and quite charming. We learned a lot about the author, one of my childhood favorites.
I cant remember what time it opens but they close at 5pm
