Had a great time here. Spacious sites and beautiful views. Cafe/bar located by the lake was great! Try their burgers!! So good! I must say though bathrooms were very dirty and don't look up because you'll see all the nasty spiders and webs. Please get a good cleaning crew to deep clean and power wash showers and restrooms.

They have showers if need. Very nice place to camp. They just planted a lot of trees that are small. Luckily there is a lot of spots with large trees. It's a place you will want to go multiple times so remember the different spot numbers so can reserve spots. The store is very nice. Lots of wood for sale. Not much on groceries in fridge and not much bait would be only complaint I would have to prepare for. There is a bar als

This is a great place to camp with your family during the week and in California where you have to make reservations 6-12 months in advance for any camp site. The reason we gave it 3 stars: #1 Ground hogs! Everywhere and super dangerous for kids playing and walking. #2 Earwigs infestations EVERYWHERE. Seriously we are still killing them as they fall out our camping gear. #3 DO NOT CAMP HERE ON THE WEEKENDS. The signs all say quiet after 2200, that time came and went and everyone was loud into the night. Not good for kids trying to sleep. The reasons we liked it: #1 hot cheap showers. $2 for a 6 min shower is more than enough time. #2 during the week, no one is here and it is quite relaxing. #3 very kind rangers! They would drive by and wave and ask how we were during the week. One even dropped off a few pieces of timber for the fire! How kind. #4 great shade trees to get out of the afternoon heat #5 nice parks for kids to play on when they are antsy to play

Lake was low but the visit was cool. Can't blame the site, but you have to with the drought it's just not as inviting. Looked like many were still taking advantage of the nice weather and hitting the lake with boats and rentals to strool and go fishing. On my second trip here within a month, went hiking and caught a nice sunset. If helpful, like it below.

I have T-mobile. Speeds were like I was in the city. Some of the best I've had. Lol
Omars answer is more practical. Unless you live on either side of the pass and don't mind driving a relatively short distance, then it's best to call and ask, or check their website. I just went there with my family and it was amazing! I came all the way from Orange County and I don't think I would have drove all the way up there just to ask. Call first, don't waste gas or the trip unless going there for certain. Check out the amenities online first, and then call for finalizing details.
Perhaps you're wife paid for you while your eyes. But its 25 cents for two minutes.
All depends where is your site, it will take you 5 to 10 min walking
The individual sites do not have fire pits. I bring my own.
You have to go to their website ,just Google it
No. But if you can, take the 2-hour lake cruise. It is a neat experience.
No I don’t think so
Just a average site not much foot traffic or any traffic except for it being a weekend. It will probably be a full site with 8 people in it
Just stayed there there, site 164 no bee's seen this weekend
Yes, full hookups are available. I stayed in both 12 and 14. They have 30a and 20a. But the 30a trips at around 15 to 20a and needs a visit from an electrician on space #14. #12 works well. Be sure to enjoy the burger and brownie ice cream at the Hook restaurant - really good. They also have a camp store, lake cruises, swimming pool and movie nights. I missed the star gazing event, but I'm sure it would have been fun. I think they also rent boats, sell fishing licenses and the lake is well stocked. I spent 5 days here and loved it. Enjoy!
a
There is a day use portion
There are markets on and off site...12 minutes for off site. Salvane, CA is 15-20 minutes away.
Yes you do need a fishing license, I was told that I could purchase one at The Cachuma General Store. Have a great time and I hope you catch a big mouth bass!
You don't have to register for camp to use the showers we went to rent a boat and after that we walked to the restrooms close to the campsites, tents only and we took a shower I don't know about the restrooms where the RV's are, and quaters only I believe it's 4 quaters for 3 minutes
Day use is not free, its $10 but if you ask the rangers if you can scope it out they may let you in
Yes
Yes you have to pay for a day pass to go into the park it's about $12. Which gives you full access to the docks the bar and grill the store and all the hiking trails
Camping is open I was just there last week stayed in a cabin....for camping it was pretty full so you might want to make reservations just to be safe it's a awesome lake
At tequepis point in late july of last year i didnt camp but was present for a while, it was breezy but not too windy, and i do go camping.
Can you pay in cash to reserve a site?
It is supposed to be closed as well like all other public places.
You can boat, fish, hike. They also offer guided nature tours on and around the lake. They have a frisbee golf course and a nature museum and general store, RV and tent camping cabines and yurts for rent.
It has deferent prices, and changes from time to time according to visitors... You need to check online..
They do have a pool, but it is only open to the public in season (summer to Labor Day). For camping, they charge per "site" the price includes a vehicle, if there are extras, an additional fee is paid. The price varies by site and season. Visit their website for more accurate information. I hope this information helps you. Luck!
