FYI horrible customer service I would not do business with this company if your name is not on the contract but you make all the payments and there is money that they owe you at the end they will not work with you on writing the check to u even if all the payments came out of your account. There is other companies less than a mile from this one which will make it easy for you not to have to feel like you don’t have many options.

I had some minor damage to a flute. They were able to fix it quickly and did it for a great price. The entire staff there was very polite. I will be going back for all my music needs.

Fast, friendly service! They were so amazing to come out to our elementary school to do an instrument "petting zoo" for my band kiddos! It was nice to learn how to get a sound out of a flute for the first time. I'm so glad that they had the conductors book along with other Tratitions of Excellence books for our band in stock last minute for me to pick up!

This is the first time I stepped foot to Summerhays, great location, the presence of store front is inviting; the facility is clean throughout and organize with displays of bass, cello, violin, viola, ukulele, guitar, clarinet, trumpet, etc on the sales floor. Jerry is friendly-nice, prompted greeted me, showcase the instruments the store carries; he introduced me to Chris to further discuss the type of services Summerhays offers. I also met Shylee on the sales floor, she's a nice-friendly team member; between Jerry and Shylee, we discussed my violin needs and went from there. Walked around the store, the music books, cleaning items, guitar belts, instrument mini ornaments and children's harmonicas and other kiddie music items were readily displayed, it was easy to view items at eye-level, everything was easy to find. Before I left the store, purchased a mini violin ornament, super cute and well made/high quality, I intend to hang this cutesy instrument ornament in my office (see pic image). The guitar straps were on sale at 25% off the day I was there, purchased the yellow leather strap, good workmanship and material. Picked up two (2) harmonicas for kids. Customer service desk was helpful-professional, the two guys quickly rang me up, and one of the guys answered my questions; they were both cordial-pleasant behind the counter. From the time I walked in through the time I exited the store, I knew this is the place to go and return again, if ever I need instrument(s), fixing-repairing, the experience was positive. Will return the following week to pick up the Yamaha violin. Will return and would highly recommend this professional music store to family, friends and business associates. Summerhays music center is pleasant to work with.

We do not buy instruments, but have trade in options toward the purchase of another instrument as well as a consignment program your bass may qualify for. You can bring your instrument into our Murray or Layton location and we can let you know the value and if it qualifies for our consignment program, as well as give you more information on our trade-up program, if that interests you. Another great resource for selling instruments is KSL classifieds.
Have you tried looking on the Facebook Marketplace or KSL?
Yes, they rent and sell lever harps. They have a very good selection and are very helpful.
I overheard the "band repairs" desk say that they're two to three weeks out on repairs, with school coming back in session. Probably best to call them.
Masks are required in store there are also plastic dividers at the cash register area.
They do not.
Our Tubas are priced $3995 and up. Rentals start at $150 a month.
I only ever saw a new instruments there no used. But yes I did see organs. Pianos to both regular and electronic. They had Grande, Baby Grand and upright
Summerhays tend to have a higher quality guitars so you're looking at hundreds of dollars. Of course even in the whole scope of nice guitars there is quite a range from say 400 to 900. And of course there are a couple over $1,000. It varies widely and best to just take a look yourself or go online and see what kind of things are willing to share there.
They don't sell spray paint. It's a musical instrument store.
They don't have the essential element book for band instruments, sorry.
Probably. Guitar Center probably does too
Hi Daniela, We care a large selection of brass mouthpieces. Give us a call and we can answer any questions you have on brands and prices.
I think about 1000 dollars
I'm sure they do. But if you want pricing you should probably call them.
Probably should just call them.
Check with Riverton Music, or Barrus Piano. That distance will be pricey
No, sorry
I think they do
Turn around time depends on many factors including work load when checked in, what needs to be repaired, and if you are an MTP customer. They can be mailed to you when complete. Band repair would not be able to give you an anticipated time without first seeing the instruments. You can call them directly at 801-268-4465 with additional questions.
We do not buy instruments, but have a trade in program toward the value of another instrument, or a consignment program that your instrument may qualify for.
Yes, they have a wide variety of violins along with expertise to help you find the right one.
They do rent students violins. The price depends on the retail price of the violin. Ours is for a 5 year old kid and it is around $24 per month. I think they go up to $40 or so
We do not rent piano accordions.
Sommerhays uses a number of contractors to repair and regulate musical instruments. Our harp was regulated and minor scratches refinished by their contractors. Best to call them about your concertina, as it is a less common instrument.
Yes
Cristian is the BEST string repairman around. Plus he's just a great guy and will make you feel comfortable and confident that your instrument will be well taken care of.
