This is one of my favorite places to talk a walk at. It's peaceful and safe. Just make sure you close the gate behind you when you go into the nature preserve to keep the turtles in and safe!

I love the towers for exercise. Up and down the stairs is great. My favorite walk trail is the outer perimeter. The only negative is No restrooms!

Nice park for walking and exploring the natural scrub area. It is very easy to access. There are no restrooms, and the parking lot is small, but park is very well maintained. There is even a large tower that over looks the area. Only reason for the 3 star rating is due to some sketchy individuals walking around. We were in a larger group, so we felt secure, but I would not go by myself to this location which is a shame because it is fun to explore.

Understated, not well-known natural sanctuary that offers a well-maintained paved loop (20 min walk) and larger off-trail loop mostly in white sand (over an hour walk). The park is free and open sunrise to sunset. Not much sun cover during the day, except off-trail when in the pine forest, so park can get hot in the afternoons. A dozen or so gopher turtles are usually active, and occasionally there are viewings of birds in the retention pond, or snakes or squirrels. If you're lucky, at dawn or dusk, you can catch a sighting of foxes. The views from the top of the towers at the northern end of the park are the best views to be had. This is an understated, dry landscape that isn't the most popular. The park is not well-visited, so it's mostly a private experience in the sand dunes in between the roar of traffic from US1 and then further, I95. There are no developed facilities nor trash cans inside the fencing.
