As a warning to all homeless people seeking help here. Because the City of Miami Beach thinks all homeless people are mentally ill if you ask for shelter you will be locked in a mental health facility for 2 months. They say you will be given job training but in reality you will see a doctor who will give you pills and be keep you locked up. Miami Beach and Dade County looks at homeless as an easy way to get federal money flowing from all the beds they provide. You can look up all federal money being given to the county. It is public information and your right as a tax payer to know. Don't fall for their scam. They city of Miami Beach has made a pathetic attempt to help homeless by making them someone else's problem all the while by getting pay $175 per day your there. You have protections under federal law to decide where you choose to live and under that law the city and county have to make reasonable accommodations for you. I hope one day the city will change their mindset before they get dragged into court for their misdeeds.
