Old school Charme.Tables inside are very sticky and the menu cards as well.Not much choices for Vegetarians. The tables outside are very old and some of them are broken.That seems like the owner of the Taverne not really care for the place. The employees were friendly.

Best crabcakes I have ever eaten (even at the beach) If you like crabmeat look no further, this is a hidden gem. From crabby fries to crabcakes this place has it and little to no filler whatsoever. Fresh cut fries were also amazing and cooked perfectly. Our waiter, John, was excellent and very attentive. The desserts are huge and also very delicious. This is a definite must stop for a bite to eat if you are in the area. We will be back!

I’ve ate here before & the food was good. But this time I don’t know what happened! While the crab dip is good, the service took forever! We should’ve gotten our appetizers way before our meal and they pretty much came within five minutes of each other. My daughters hamburger was very lukewarm in the middle, she could only eat half of it. I tried to order the salmon & coconut shrimp & both were unavailable. So I ordered the tempura shrimp and it was terrible the breading was so thick and it was overcooked it was dark brown not a light crispy golden brown I had to tear all the breading off and just eat the shrimp inside. Plus they were so much oil on my plate from the breading it almost turned my stomach I don’t know what happened but I felt like they were more concerned about the people sitting at the bar drinking than families who were dining in I don’t think I’ll be back. Sorry but not a well spent $50 meal.

We were a party of 17 who went tubing during the day and made a request for a reservation for about an hour and a 1/2 before arriving. We did not wait to long to be seated and were off in a room with another large party. Our server was pretty busy but was also handling the other large party next to us. The food understandably took longer than expected and wasn't expecting the best quality with such volume but, boy was I wrong! We were blown away at the freshness, quality and taste of everything. The salads were fresh, the fish crispy and my chicken and waffles was amazing! The next day my husband was willing to drive the hour and half distance just for the waffles! Perfect place for the end of a great trip! Thank you so much Taverna and our server (lost my receipt for her name)! We will be back!
