If you look at the Library of Congress map from 1754, this is where George Washington went to meet with Queen Aliquippa, the leader of native Americans living along the rivers here, before their land was taken away. Her marker is in a small park up on the hill.

From what I can tell I home not seen it open rather than for events for few years. Last I went there and the only time was in 2013.
