Used to love this place! Love the doctor our son usually sees. He is a great doctor and we trust him. Although, so much has been going wrong and it's just not okay anymore. It got to a point where waiting time takes longer and it's not easy with small children. Then, after calling in about something we were worried about, they made it important to come in. Rushed us to come in. So I did just that, but upon coming in they said everyone was at lunch and that the time available was taken by someone right before I walked in. Sooooo over the phone was the gamble? It was no longer important? Just make us drive back and forth for no reason. Had to set up an appointment in the morning with another doctor. Then the next morning he mentioned that he was surprised we didnt come in the day we called(I had to explain that we did). Was recommended to come in the following week about the issue, being told it would probably take a week to resolve. It resolved within a day but the dad came back with the child. Dad has been there before and the baby is listed under him as well. All insurance and info is also there. They told him he wasn't listed and there was no insurance. Then a different doctor saw them and had no idea what they were there for. It was a waste of 3 trips with no reason but just confusion and unnecessary bills. Then I was left calling and emailing around to make sure they use insurance on file and stop sending us bills saying there is no insurance. It was fixed though and yes, the father and insurance were always in the system. This experience left me very bitter and broke some trust. Can we really call in with issues and be taken serious? Is this how it will continue. Should all our kids just see another doctor? Never had that issue with WH. The only issue I had with them is how busy they were being a big place and unable to see the same doc. At least didn't have this issue (s). Just hope to see changes and better communication. Don't ever want to be in this situation again and feel like they made it unimportant after making us feel like it was important. So glad we were worried for nothing and it was nothing serious and didn't really require a doctor.

After going to this facility for over 9+ years and receiving good care, I have to downgrade my review. The doctor on staff saw my children when they got covid. They said their policy was to call a few days after the appointment to checkup on them because they were children. They called once. The convo was 6 mins long. The kids were doing fine, so no further diagnostic work was needed. They charged me TWICE for that phone call (over $200 - a lot of money for my family). Everyone I spoke to at Novant's billing department said they couldn't do anything about it. Whoever reviews the coding said it was correct so their hands were tied. If they want to call you and everything is going well, say NO! Apparently money means more to them than the patients now.

I drive a little over an hour to see one of the best doctors my children or me have ever had. I started going here when I found out I was pregnant with my son (2015). Had Dr. Shanks and he was great delivered my son and my son had him as his doctor until he left. When I got pregnant with my daughter I definitely came back. I’ve had Dr. Silinski since I was about 5 months along. She delivered my daughter and we both have been seeing her since. So happy that after she graduates she plans on staying in Wilmington. We MOST DEFINITELY will be following her wherever she goes.
