This is, no doubt, a great place for both dogs and kids. It's beautiful and when the water isn't high it's slow moving and if you walk upstream there are shallower pools for the smaller children. However, as I write this review in late June the water is still somewhat high and quite cold. A couple reviews I read stated nice camp spots, however this is a day use only area. Also, dogs are supposed to be leashed so if they aren't make sure they are well behaved. It's definately one of my favorite swimming spots close to my home.

Great place for a hike or day hunt, river access is excellent for fishing. Very clean area!

Great for families with older children. Bring bug spray and shoes. There's a lot of glass on the beach. Overall it was beautiful.
