Went to the range today to go shooting with my kids and a friend from work as soon as we got there there were two other people at the same range that just kept bothering us annoying us making rude comments went to the front office to complain about them and see if there's anything they can do this old guy came up and a car and started chewing us out while befriending the people that were bothering us started going on about these ridiculous rules and saying that my target which was all plastic except for the steaks to put in the ground I couldn't use because there was metal on the target the middle is in the ground I'm not shooting at the ground
I like the outdoors
Nice place to go shooting, there could be a little better upkeep on the trap range, but overall for a county park it is great. I’ve used the long range big bore range, the handgun range and the trap range. Can’t beet the price. I would recommend for a safe place to shoot.

Tried to go after work today (Friday) and they closed the gate at 4:35pm. Sunset today is at 5:39. I appreciate the volunteers but not happy about driving all the way there to test a new bullet/load and they closed early on a gorgeous day. I am a regular that buys an annual pass each year...

I don't completely understand the reasoning behind the wide range of negative reviews on this range. Like all situations, you get out what you put in and perhaps if you've found yourself in repeatedly negative situations then its time to evaluate your own standing and approach. Personally I've found most all my experiences at this range to be very positive. There are plenty of ranges available and rarely have I found them to be crowded. The facilities are generally as clean as you'd expect and the people I've met while practicing have always been courteous and safe. I've spoken to a number of the range officers and have never had a problem. They regularly check in on folks to make sure they're following the rules and have offered helpful tips each time I've asked. I've taken many first time shooters here and its a great environment to learn and practice. I've never personally had an issue with their hours, but I can definitely see where some folks may be upset by "early closures". Personally I find it to be reasonable, especially considering the reasonably low price for a year pass. I find the attitudes of the majority of folks that visit this range to be positive. They are not overly macho, "militant", or tough. Most folks are middle aged to older and simply there to use the facilities, practice, and enjoy. I've found that in other ranges this isn't always the case and in my opinion it does harm to the often negative stereotypes surrounding gun culture. While many people prefer to find secluded public land to practice, I personally find this distasteful and harmful to the environment and our reputation as marksmen/gun owners. As citizens and gun owners I personally find it as our responsibility to support ranges such as these as a way to promote proper education, awareness, and respect for a right that is threatened by individuals who aren't making the correct decisions.

Not at this site. I believe the range you speak of is nearby and only open a day or two each week. Plus, they have a saftey process one must go through to shoot there. Me, I have a secret spot on BLM land that I use for 1000+ yards...
