I work at Saint Vincent De Paul and we get extra bread or when the apples go bad or the fruit goes bad or vegetables whatever we get I love feeding it to the pigs and they loved it when we feed them

One of the standard field trips for Marin elementary aged students, I've been twice over the years. I learned a lot myself and loved watching the kids gawk at the amount of recycling that goes on. Yesterday we just had to come back to see the piglets, and I was thrilled that one of the workers actually fetched one for us to pet. The farm was as clean as it could be, and the larger pigs were as happy as sows in mud. Oh wait, that's just what they were.

No .
We can accept shredded paper for recycling if you place it in a paper bag, staple it, and write "shredded" on it so we know that it isn't garbage. Alternatively, you can place shredded paper in your compost cart (as long as there is no plastic on the paper), which will help absorb moisture and keep your cart clean.
Yes they do.... and while you're there dropping off your mattress stop by and see the peacocks and the pigs. They would love to see you :-)
The Reward Center for cans and bottles is permanently closed. We closed in 2020 for reasons about the pandemic.
We will not be reopening the Buyback Center at this time and have no plans to do so in the near future. We apologies for any inconvenience.
The CRV redemption (buyback) center has been permanently closed. There are redemption centers currently open in Novato, Petaluma and Richmond.
Fluorescent bulbs must be dropped off at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility on Jacoby Street because they contain dangerous materials, such as mercury, that can pose a health hazard if not handled properly.
Hardcover books are not recyclable as-is, because the cover is not made of only paper material. If you want to recycle the paper in the book, you must separate the cover from the rest of the book. Then the cover is trash and the paper is recycling. Or, you can donate or share your books!
Marin Recycling does not accept batteries as these are hazardous waste. You can take them to Marin Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) to be recycled. This facility is located on the same property as Marin Recycling and is open from 8:00-3:30 Tuesday through Saturday. https://marinhhw.com/
Hi Vicki, these items are recyclable, but don't work well with our recycling sorting machines for residental material. In order to ensure they are recycled, you can bring them to Marin Resource Recovery at 565 Jacoby St. Just let them know you have metal to recycle and you can drop it off free of charge.
We are not open at this time. There are some other facilities that are operating. Here is a list we were able to find. Please check with them before as their status may have changed since we put this list together. Thank you for reaching out. There could be a number of reasons you were charged differently (amount of material or type of material for example). Please contact our office so they can discuss your specific case 415-485-5647.

Marin Recycling does not take furniture. If it is donatable we recommend taking it to an organization that will reuse or resell it. If it is not in donatable condition you can take it to Marin Resource Recovery (the indoor dump) also located on Jacoby St. There is a cost depending on the type of furniture. You can contact 415-485-5646 to get a quote. @ConstancsShea, we do not do pick ups. If you live in the Marin Sanitary service area, you can do a bulky item pick up. Contact (415) 456-2601 to schedule the pick up. If you have a different waste hauler, check with them to see if they provide bulky item pick up in your area.
ID yes. Paid by check.
