I've been going to Island Market for over 50 years. No better meat market. Damn Sam when you gonna retire 😆😆😆. I come from Concord moving to Antioch CA. Still make the trip. Paratransit picks me up and drop me off. You can't beat that front door service being a senior.

They change prices everyday like you don’t come in every day SMFH. And because of that I’ll take that scenic walk to oaktown up the block. Or to islers on foothill… go to a smoke shop or another store for your smoking needs.

I been shopping at island market for a very long time when the asians owned it. Sam is still there working behind the meat counter they have a variety of meat packages .they have bags of shrimp. They make deli sandwiches also. Island market has always been convienant for the neighborhood if you dont live anywhere near island market the ac transit bus # 14 comes and goes every 15 minutes except weeknds.

I live in Sacramento, CA, I come down about once a month to grab a few things. This is the only one I truly like so far. The only peeve I have is that they don't where gloves but, if you tell Sam to have the workers where gloves, he is very good about having them put gloves on and he always gives me something for kindness. I also like that he remembers faces.
