My phone is UNLOCKED. I switched to Verizon. I just wanted to buy a SIM card so that my phone can have service. Verizon rep asked me for: my social security number, kept a pic of my ID, my phone IMEI, my credit card. All this info Verizon needs from one is too much, all personal identifiable information (PII) . If the info I gave is in the wrong hands, my identity is stolen in a heartbeat. It's up to Verizon rep or Verizon to decide what to do with one's PII now. These businesses like Verizon are the reason people's identity is stolen all day every day. I felt so uncomfortable giving out all my personal info. When I go to a business, all I'm hoping to do is insert my credit card to pay stuff I buy. It's disgusting how businesses want to know all they can about one, if you let them.
