Love the ice cream and it's a local icon mom and pop ice cream shop. Walked in and you can smell the sweets right away, smells so good. Not only ice cream, but you can also get other goodies. I like when I can support the locals

What an absolute treasure Liled's is ! Hand made candy and Ice Cream! The ice cream has a rich full creaminess that you cannot find in the chain stores. The decor is genuine quaint 1950s funky. Like many others I was guilty of forgetting how good and reasonably priced Liled's is.That is a mistake none of us should make again. Start with their Ice Creams and you will become a fanatic too!

Myself, family, & friends grew up going there frequently and continue to do so. I no longer live there so can't say with 100% conviction yes but would go with a very strong 90%+ they still have gift certificates. (The best fresh, made in store ice cream too!! In fact, all their item are amazing and from original recipes from owners LONG ago. VERY COOL!) Enjoy!
I think that you had the "French vanilla" ice cream. That style traditionally is yellow in color because the custard base used to make the ice cream has more egg yolks in it.
I assume that you're originally not from CA, since I'm guessing what you're asking about is the stuff you swirl out of a machine. The regional name for that here is soft serve, and the answer is no, this is all hand churned.
