I have Tourette’s and recently voluntarily committed myself to this hospital while suffering severe anxiety. The combination of the two can my my tics dangerous leading me to hit myself, scream loudly. Etc…. While I’m the hospital I was repeatedly told that I had to “try harder” to stop my tics, and several nurses made it clear that they did not believe I had Tourette’s. “I’ve done this for 21 years and that’s not Tourette’s.” “If you keep making noise like that then another patient may attack you.” It took hours before I was given anything to help my anxiety, and in the morning I was released without any more help or plan moving forward. I assumed it was normal for a place like this to have poor reviews but I agree with the low rating 100%

Horrible! They keep releasing my severe psychosis bi polar daughter!! She's been in there 5 times this past 2 weeks!! She's going to end up hurting someone or dead if you don't help her. I'm planning on suing.

Had a few individuals released to me to take them home. They try to help but it is voluntary so people turn down help, they do what they can. Some disconnect but I guess it is part of what they do. Location not very convenient.

I hope so? People are ill and set free
I wish a knew. This place hurts people, not helps them.
There are rehabilitation centers all across the Bay Area. DVR is a good program, the Camp Recovery Center is another or there is another I am aware of in Napa that is owned by the same people as the camp recovery center. I would suggest these type of facilities before a mental hospital
They treat everyone, patients and visitors, like they're trash.
Because of HIPPA, staff at the hospital will not be able to tell you if your son has been admitted or not. But what you can do is call and ask the staff to ask your son to call you IF he is there. The clerk will most likely say, "I cannot tell you if he is here or not, but if he is here we will give him the message." Now if he is actually a patient there, the person who answered the phone will immediately tell his nurse your request and that nurse will relay the message to your son. At that point, it will be up to your son to call you if he so chooses. Staff cannot force him to call you. Include your phone number with the message in case your son doesnt have it on him. Also, there are several units in the hospital so you may want to call each unit and leave the message because the staff will not go looking for a nurse on a different unit to relay such a message and they won't even see his name on their unit's tracking board if he's in a different unit.
Yes we welcome visitors. You will need to know your loved ones name to visit, and may be denied a visit from the person, they have to give consent
We are no longer hiring psych techs or vocational nurse.
At 2060 Fairmont Drive it is actually John George psychiatric Pavilion. They are an acute care psychiatric hospital. Fairmont Hospital itself has a number of different departments ranging from Rehabilitation to long-term care as well as the IOP program.
