Helpful employees and a great place to dispose of yard waste, metal scrap, and even tattered flags. Hazardous waste days are pretty frequent on Saturdays throughout the spring and summer. Although there are huge lives those days Clean Harbors (the contracted waste collectors) make the process simple. Much of the yard waste gets composted for resale and the massive solar array generates over 2 megawatts for the towns buildings... both huge revenue generators. Although they are closed Saturdays it's still easy to find time to use the facility throughout the week or on Sundays. Idiot reviewers like Bill Cole just need to better prioritize their schedule like most capable adults.

Closed on weekends much of the year .....so really not a facility for residents who work at a job to use. Seven months later: even worse their summer hours are only to 3pm but it doesn’t say so in google

No. I don't think mattresses can be recycled there

Yes.

Can I bring shredded paper, mostly mail and office paper, not newspaper, without any plastic or window envelopes shredded.

Julian Aroesty | Sep 6, 2021
Jin Song | Sep 6, 2021

I don't think so. The compost here takes yard work materials like brush debris and grass clippings. They also have a metal bin for large metals but I've not seen other recycling materials collected here.

Can I bring food waste that is compostable?

Can I take my wooden fence to the fump

Renato Carpinito | Sep 7, 2018

I would call them. The only wood that I've seen collected is branches so garden waste. Check on the dpw site there may be more information there.

Can I pick up sand there?

Aaron Gaudette | Sep 7, 2018
Jin Song | Sep 6, 2020

I know you can pick up soil and mulch. I'm fairly sure they don't have sand.
