That's a question that often is asked. The short answer is no. The why is the real answer. Metal roofs are installed in a way that minimizes any sound transmission. Also the the roof is typically insulated, or the attic has insulation which has an impact on deadening sound as well. The idea of noisy metal roofs is from the days when tin roof where nailed right over the rafters of the house and insulation was unheard of.
It depends on the insurance company. Some companies offer discounts on metal roof installations on homes due to the improved wind and fire ratings. Check with your agent; they should be able to help you.
Very well. These Kynar coatings are among the most durable and resilient coating made. Just be sure to wash it off at some point!
