I applied for a moving permit, paid the fees and as I was placing my signs saw cones indicating the city had issued a conflicting permit for sidewalk repair that trumped my permit. The city informed me that I will be unable to park in the space I'd been permitted for, and that I can get a refund but only if I physically bring the signs to city hall. In the future, could the city please consider not issuing conflicting permits? In cases where it is necessary to do so, could the city please consider informing the permitted party who will be unable to use their permit? Taking these steps would be very helpful for folks planning to move in this city where parking is scarce.

Parking Clerk is always rude and unhelpful. They make you feel like you're doing something wrong by calling them. They have made errors on multiple parking passes and are difficult to deal with. They are just as rude in person but tend to be more receptive if you come prepared since they are not able to hang up on you.

The parking department is ruthless and incompassionate. As a tourist, I was not aware of the overnight cleaning. There was no sign anywhere around where I parked. I had a good case to argue. The app failed to mention over night cleaning. I even printed and sent photos showing proof of no signs anywhere near my vehicle with my appeal. They denied it. Just the headache of parking and no mercy towarda tourist makes it not worth visiting. I do not plan on return. At least new York is forgiving.

I got a parking ticket on the day of my mother's death as I stopped to grab some food on my way from a funeral home. I didn't notice that I parked at a street meter. Called the parking clerk office and talked to Andrew Smith. Andrew was very helpful. He listened to me and offered help. I did provide him with a copy of a death certificate, and today I got a letter from the parking clerk office stating that the ticket has been dismissed. Thank you very much, Andrew, for your remarkable assistance in such a difficult time for me. I appreciate it!

No but it can have resident only hours posted. They are generally red and green signs that say resident parking between 6pm-8am.
You have to go to city hall to get anything done.
Or go online
There are parking enforcement officers working different shifts all though fewer during the evening. You can call the Parking Clerk and suggest officers be deployed in your area or you can call the police they can ticket also.
