There is no better than Randolph Co. Inspection department or inspectors. Melissa Burkhart is as good as they come. She is knowledgeable and fast. Grateful to have these individuals representing us.

The inspectors are very helpful. They are being paid to make sure everything is done correctly. For the small cost they charge it is worth it to get them involved. I have built over a dozen structure in the county and I always get the inspector involved early in the project.

The zoning and building rules are different in the county and the city. Both sets of rules are on their websites. It is usually pretty easy to work through the site to get an answer. If you can't find the answer the people that work their are very helpful.

How do I know if I need to have footings for my residential, work shop. 30'x48'x12' A-frame metal building.

I would suggest any structure you build has footings under it. Unless its light weight carport tube steel. Minimum is 24inch x 24 inch x 8 inches thick.
