Accommodation: Was told the only available room was in the 1800’s house. We were the only ones in the house, which was a bit creepy in itself. Our room was located up a winding, narrow and creaky staircase. The room itself was like being in a fun house at a carnival, the entire room on a slant, which made for an almost nauseous feeling! The toilet had a complete ring around it as if it hadn’t been cleaned in some time! The shower curtain was cut on an angle (to match the shape of the slanted ceiling) and didn’t completely go to the end of the shower, causing water to run right onto the floor! The antique sink was stained and spigots just sprayed water everywhere. Bill: we were quoted a room fee and as others said, the bill dramatically grew! There’s the standard occupancy tax, but then they also charge a historic preservation fee and then another tax for that. The resort fee of $39 is to use the pool, whether you do or not and two 16 oz bottles of water. Total added fees was $80 for a one night stay! When leaving and asked how everything was, I expressed my disappointment in the room and was told she’d ‘pass on my comments’. Unfortunately, the Equinox is not what it used to be and it needs some serious renovation. There are many other nicer hotels, inns and b&b’s in and around Manchester. I’ll be looking elsewhere next time.

This is a wonderful hotel, right in the center of beautiful Manchester Village. There is wonderful hiking, tennis, swimming out the back door; and golf, shopping out the front door. Highly recommend hiking to Southern Vermont Art Center, seeing the exhibits, and getting lunch there. My only complaint is that there wasn't kayaking available.

I’m disappointed, there seems to be a pretty significant decline in the overall “wellness” of the hotel facilities as of late. We stayed here years ago and it was magnificent, but the hotel and its grounds seem to be in disrepair. Everywhere you turn something is broken, including the fire pit on the deck that we were really looking forward to. It’s a shame, the access to downtown is great and the hiking trails are wonderful but it just feels like things are going in the wrong direction for the resort.

This place is a disaster, minus the one nice guy at the front desk, and a helpful person who cleans the rooms. I should’ve listened to the other reviews, so I hope the next person does. The majority of the staff was rude, obnoxious, this even included the woman manager during the weekend. This place is built like trash, you can literally hear everything in every room near you - good luck sleeping! The place has no security on site. No room service at all. The windows don’t stay open if you want to air out the room, just drop like logs (really awful, especially right now). The concierge doesn’t know anything in the area (how’s this even possible? The whole town spans like a mile). The rude woman at the front desk told me that they wouldn’t change the sheets when I asked for housekeeping. We wanted to check out early because we (obviously) weren’t enjoying our stay but the manager (who was NASTY) said that they would charge us for the entire stay regardless! I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life. This place is SO awful that I will stay in a different town in the future just to avoid seeing it again. It should be reported to BBB because I don’t think that people who are trying to have a nice getaway should be fooled into staying here and losing their money while being stressed out.

There are bike sign outs at the Spa.

It's 80-90 degrees during the day, 60-75 at night.
Breakfast is not included. The buffet breakfast runs about $25/per person and it's usually excellent.
A couple hours from the nearest train or airport, but they have shuttles that can pick you up
