I adopted my sweet little Mr. Peanut a month ago. I came in once to meet all the cats and he was just curled up, scared in his cage. I came back a few days later and the lovely staff got him out and into my arms and it was love at first sight. I could tell they really cared about the animals there and were really attentive even though I could tell they were busy. Thank you so much for my new best friend!

This shelter is filled with LOVE! My family was so lucky to have been matched with the "purrfect" fur baby years ago that we adopted from EMAS! He has become the king of our house!!! :) After having such an AMAZING experience, we became fosters for the shelter and have been fostering for several years. Therefore, we know first hand not only how hard the kind staff and volunteers work, but how much they DEEPLY LOVE and CARE for the animals there! The awesome, dedicated manager, Becky, always has the best interest of the animals at heart; and Amy is an absolute ANGEL who lives and breathes saving the lives of animals, always going way beyond her duties to help them!! It takes a village to run (staff, volunteers and community) and it is an INCREDIBLE place to adopt a wonderful furry family member from!

I went in today with my older son to look at the dogs and hopefully start the process to adopt. The website says walk in 12-4pm The first lady behind the counter took in 2 people that were already there and said she would be right back. A different woman comes out with an attitude asks what I needed so I told her. She tells me I have to have an appointment an calls the manager to ask, however her words were more don't you have to have an appointment to see the dogs more statement than question and going on about I need to go to the website and request an appointment, so I show her the website and she says its wrong and someone will have to fix it, so my son says can we request one for now my son is also a military veteran not that she knew that, but why be nasty, she says no you can't. Horrible the way she and the manager spoke and behaved with us. I hope they are better with the animals. 1 star is too many.

Great people who managed to save a terrific dog. Archie is such a wonderful animal(as the staff told us!} We're so lucky to have been allowed to bring him into our home. Great staff and wonderful warm treatment of our family. We've had Archie for a little over a month now and he just gets better & better with us. Can't thank everyone enough at the shelter for helping us with the adoption. PS he's gained 2 lbs as our vet suggested might be optimal and is frisky and very playful with his toys. Loves his adventures to the local parks and beaches!

You made a commitment to the puppy, move.
21-years-old. The shelter recently had their volunteer training, so you might want to reach out to the shelter manager, Kirstin, directly.
Check out Poor Paws in New Brunswick. They're a great org and can always use more fosters :)
Hi king cheese. I see you were inquiring about adopting a cat three months ago. I have kittens looking for a loving affectionate home. Are you still looking?
I recently adopted a Maltese and poodle mix, both hypoallergenic breeds. He's tiny! You may have to call and follow up continuously as dogs come in randomly all the time.
You can walk in, but only from 12pm - 4pm
This was same problem I had so Edison shelter found my dog a good home
The shelter is open through appointments atm. You can see who is available for adoption on petfinder.com and search for Edison Animal Shelter
Still available ??
Call animal control
Call them
Hi! I have 2 I would like to rehome they are 9 months old and they are male.
The process is kind of easy but it's worth it to adopt an animal and give them a forever home
If you feed a stray cat in New Jersey, you are then responsible for that cat. We do not take in feral cats for adoption. We do offer a TNR service for the people of Edison, but you can also bring them to People for Animals any time for $55. They will spay/neuter, vaccinate and microchip them for you.
You should call the shelter they are open on the weekends
Thank you very much. We are in desperate need of canned dog food the most at this time.
Friends of Animals ..just cats on amboy ave accept certificate you buy online from website for friends of animals ..girl cats and boy neuter are different prices..but it saves you alot of money
No, I'm sorry, we don't have that option. If you are ready to adopt, you are welcome to come in and meet the dog you are interested in who fits best with your family.
No, we do not offer vet services here. Please try People for Animals.
Talk to Amy at the shelter she will do her best to help
Sell? The shelter wont recommend any place to sell a dog.
Please call the shelter
Yes, we take all kinds of animals, please call the shelter manager Saturday.
Check out the about us on there page... you can also go there and they will be more then welcome to answer any question you have?... good luck
We have one that will be available on the 28th. You can come see it then.
There are almost always kittens, especially during kitten season. Sometimes the shelter posts updates on their Facebook page when new kittens arrive.
Only serious adopters can play with the dog they are interested in, with an employee assisting. Volunteers must attend a brief training, so watch the Facebook page for volunteer training announcements.
People For Animals in Hillside is the closest low cost spay/neuter clinic to you. Contact them for appointments.
You will have to find a friend, family member, or a petsitter to care for them while you're gone.
