The water level is low due to work planned on the dam. There are boats for rent in season. Aside from the fishing there is a very nice hiking trail on one side of the lake. We didn't make it to the dam because a strong thunderstorm with lightning chased us off.

Overall I give this place five stars although at the moment the lake is being drained and isn't as beautiful as it usually was. When it gets back to normal with people boating and fishing and picnicking it will be wonderful and I highly suggest going there to visit and just relaxing.

The dam is broken so they let the water out and it's way down, can hike around whole lake and it's a pretty view. I fish it a lot and it can be tough fishing but that's probably due to me and not the lake.

For scenery purposes and to walk, it's beautiful and relaxing. I generally go just to fish, but for the past couple of years it's gotten progressively worse. It's hard to walk through, water extremely low, over grown. Hopefully whatever repairs are being done will finish soon. However I hope that the portions of lake that's over grown are cut down and cleaned up prior to refilling. It would be nice that since the water is so low, the bank could be mowed down so people can access the water to fish more parts of the lake.

Yes. But like the last guy said. We were there last week working out of town and went 2 times. Didn't see anyone.
Swimming is not allowed.
This is my point , just 20 to 30 years ago , you could go to lakes and river , take your boat and find a place nice to camp , not a set up camp ground and hardly ever did you run in to anyone who minded you camping . Everything has turn into politics and everyone trying to make money on nature to were there is really no true adventure camping
The lake plus a golf course are in a neighborhood area. However, it's a public lake. There's a parking lot, a trail, and the lake can be accessed around most of it's perimeter. The bait shop rents kayaks, and fishing is allowed. It's a great place!
Yea your love it EVERYBODY is so civil and nice it's exactly what you expect
I recommend asking the baitshop owners. They respond quickly over their Facebook page. There may be restrictions since there are a lot of bank, kayak, and boat anglers casting their fishing lines.
There's a boat ramp with a small dock. I've seen people using small boats with trolling motors only. I think the new baitshop owners are planning to rent john boats with trolling motors soon. Their Facebook page is Bait Boats & Bobbers LLC.
