I had such high hopes after referring many people over the years... I placed an order for a vehicle(LX570) that was out of state to be shipped to the local Danvers store on 8/1. I received emails updating me frequently about the status of the vehicle including one on 8/2 and another on 8/5 stating I should expect to be able to test drive the vehicle in Danvers on 8/13. On 8/8 an email that the vehicle was in Danvers being prepped for me to drive with an estimate of 8/12 and I will be contacted. I had not heard anything by the 16th so I looked at my CarMax profile to find the vehicle was not listed as reserved any longer. I then found out the vehicle was shipped from Danvers on the 13th to PA. What? Today I called to ask what happened-spoke with someone very nice on the phone who asked her "lead" and then told me that CarMax made numerous attempts to reach me when the vehicle was ready. NOPE! NO emails, NO phone calls, NO texts. I asked her to look into further and just wanted my $199 shipping refunded at this point. She called me back this time to say (I don't think she believes her co-workers)that I canceled the order. NOPE! CarMax is now stating that when I had my appt on 8/8 to figure out the trade-in value of my Jeep, I told the rep that I wanted to cancel the order on the shipped vehicle. NOPE! I spent $199 to move the vehicle to Danvers so that I could test drive and possibly buy. Danvers CarMax, please refund my shipping fee and STOP THE LIES! It was very good overall. Disappointing to have price change one day to the next by $500 because my quote expired. I was at the dealership both days but was missing a document on the last day my quote was valid. That said, the employees on the phone and in person at the dealership were helpful and efficient.

I sold my car easily in under an hour, with 5 minutes of upfront prep work online answering questions in order to get the initial offer and appointment. The estimate was accurate and reflected my car's condition when inspected, and it was a fair offer when compared to other online platforms (such as Carvana). The process at the CarMax location for check-in, inspection, and sale was straightforward and pleasant. I would definitely consider CarMax in the future.

We were selling them our car. Clean, modern facility. Very easy process. Honored the online estimate after verifying the car's condition. Took 90 minutes start to finish. Personnel were extremely professional and well versed in all aspects of the process. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Highly recommend them.

The Covid safety practices are great here. Everyone wears a mask and there is hand sanitizer throughout. All of the desks are 6 feet apart.
If you're at all good at negotiating, you'll do better on both trade-in and used car price playing the game at a traditional dealership. I was surprised to find CarMax about 10% higher priced when I bought recently

If that store doesn't, they will ship one from another store. If the store is within a certain # of miles its free, if its further away there is a charge.

Great place to buy a car. It is the way buying a car should be. I have bought two cars there and have sent many friends there as well. I have been in to cars my entire life and the prices there are in line with kelly blue book or better..
You can bring your car in anytime but I suggest making an appt. Especially if you are planning to go on the weekend. With an Appt, only takes about 30mins otherwise you might be waiting awhile.
