I love Dr. Katie! She is so sweet with our two older cats and genuinely cares about their well being. My boy got an infection after his teeth cleanings and extractions - she took care of him straight away the next morning and didn't charge me for the follow up visit. I feel confident in her abilities and very comfortable with her care. Highly recommend! The only thing people should be aware of it to leave a message if you can't get through to reception. Sometimes they're swamped but they always follow up with messages.

Hello, my sweet little kitten who was only one years old passed away on August 3rd 2021. I went to this vet to get her checked because she was throwing up and the vet said there was a string that she must have eaten. The vet that I got did not ask me if I wanted to get her X-rayed just told me that if she isn’t eating as well to come back and that she should be fine. He did not seem nervous so I did not think it would be a problem. I tried to watch her eating but I do have two other cats so it was kind of difficult. Although when I was talking to my friends they informed me that the string could get wrapped around her intestines which the doctor did not tell me as I remember and since he did not seem nervous about Bean I wasn’t nervous because I am a 19 year old girl that does not do this for a living. I think I paid $70 or so dollars for that appt on top of a shot that was $30 all for my cat to die. So I will not be bringing my cats or kittens here anymore. Hope you take this place takes this into account and make sure next time this does not happen. here are some pictures of my sweet girl

Extremely courteous and professional staff here. Took my baby boy for his neutering and this was the most convenient location for me that accepted FoA (Friends of Animals) certificates. If you don’t know what that is I HIGHLY recommend you check it out if you’re thinking of getting your dog or cat neutered/spayed. It easily saved me 40-50% of the cost of neutering my puppy. Overall, I had a very pleasant and worryfree experience here and would recommend you to take your dog or cat here for daily vet care (if you live nearby) or for neuter/spay. I live in Boston and it wasn’t the easiest driving up but it was definitely worth it.

do you put cats to sleep if they are old and in alot of pain

Yes it is definitely something they will discuss with the owner before they go and do euthanasia. Unfortunately having a pet in pain is a terrible thing to deal with so I understand wanting to do what is best for the animal.

There is a grooming salon in the building, but it is not associated with the Vet.

been treating 10 yr old cat fer 3 months fer thyroid disease-but i have no insurance & pills have ran out & she is now downunder 6 lbs-i was wondering if u ppl can put her down humanely?

Yes they will treat your animal with dignity and respect. My friend just went through this exact same thing with her cat. She now has Tiggas' ashes in a very nice wooden box that they help you with as well if you'd like your animal cremated and wish to keep their ashes. They are very nice I believe the entire thing cost $120.. but they do have the cheaper option to just put her down humanely if you are in a fixed income they dont guilt you into anything you cant afford. They are very compassionate and understanding.

Is there a discount available if I bring in a litter for shots spaying/neutering

I don't know,I only went there once. I go to All Creatures Veterinarian in Salem now. You can call North Shore and ask.

I have a cat that is at least 9 years old. She has never been spayed. I wish to get her spayed now. Please tell me how much it will cost and please tell me more about the Friends of Animals certificate. Thank you.

Get the certificate from Friends of Animals first, it took a little over a week for me to get mines. And then you can make an appointment for a spay. But they won't schedule you until you get the certificate. I was able to get an appointment 3 days after I received the certificate. And they took great care of my kitten and was there when I had questions about aftercare.

Pet credit that NSAH spoke about is care plus or pet care? Some kind of health care credit for pets? Is there an online application?

David Bomarsi | Sep 6, 2019
Chris Murray | Sep 5, 2020

You can apply for it at a vet. Not sure if they do the application for it there, I know Woburn can run it and Angell Memorial can run the credit check for you. It can be used for human medical/dental procedures too.
