Cat is dead. We just had her in for her annual checkup. $500 for stool, bloodwork, and a checkup and she had a clean bill of health. We told the vet that she had been occasionally waking up with rear leg paralysis that seemed painful but would resolve in a few minutes. On a subsequent visit (for an additional $244), a different vet said that she “could feel some arthritis” in her hind leg and this was probably the cause. First, why wasn’t that diagnosed during the checkup just a few weeks earlier? Second, we expressed our concern that this diagnosis didn’t really fit what we were seeing; the cat would wake up, drag herself across a room with limp rear legs, yowl in pain, and then a minute or two later would seemingly be back to normal. We showed numerous videos of this happening, but we were assured that arthritis is just worse when waking up. They gave us some joint supplement and pain killers to add to her food. Now that cat is dead. Maybe it was just her time, but I can’t help but feel like the rear leg paralysis and sudden death are related. I can’t imagine we’ll ever be back. But if you choose this office, advocate strongly for your pet. Don’t let them not take your concerns seriously. Call them on illogical conclusions, and demand to see the same vet each time. We got someone different seemingly every visit. RIP Minke. EDIT: I called as instructed. I was told that the practice manager had just stepped away briefly, but they took my number and knew what this was in reference to. I was assured I would receive a call back shortly. That was over a day ago. As you scroll through reviews, you'll see many responses acting concerned and telling the reviewer to call for discuss. I can't speak for any reviews but mine, but in my experience this concern seems feigned. The "we take this seriously, please call us" seems intended for consumption by you, the reader. For me, the poster, the lack of a call back demonstrates that publicly acting concerned is more important than actually being concerned.

First time and a great experience. I have two cats and took my first cat to another vet in Lynn with the same issue - two totally different experiences. The vet at this hospital actually explained the issue and what the treatment is. Great service from scheduling to checking out. Also, very clean interior. I’d recommend this clinic.

Love New England Vet Clinic! My parents started going there back in the late 80's. Then when I got my first dog when I was in my 20's I took him there and here I am years later I now have a new dog. She's 1 years old and has lots of allergies. Dr Bailey knew exactly how to treat her and what works and what doesn't work. Dr Bailey is the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! I will not go to any other vet.

This place is Expensive. One of the techs, a guy with a beard and dark hair, is rough holding cats. If your cat is an indoor cat and doesn't board, I'd get rabies shot and annual visit. They are always trying to upsell, asking you to buy stuff that costs more.
We have digital xray however, at this time we are referring out for ultrasound. We are hoping to be offering in-house ultrasounds soon.

Mike , sorry to hear about your pet. Just had my 18 year old cat put down in October. They can work with you and your pet for maximum comfort for him. They are kind and humane here.
