I was told by Nexamp that I would save 15% on my electric bill with their solar company. Well, it’s true that I am getting $0 bills from National Grid, BUT I am paying Nexamp more every month than my actual electric bill. I have nearly a $2,000 excess with National Grid. I won’t live long enough to use up that surplus; besides the fact that the surplus keeps increasing. Nexamp keeps charging me higher and higher amounts. Communicating with Nexamp is next to impossible…no one answers the phone and when you ask for a call back, you never hear from them. I’ve spoken about my excessive bills to no avail. Make sure you compare your actual electric bill to what you pay Nexamp. MY NEXT MOVE IS TO CANCEL NEXAMP. BE AWARE THAT YOU’ll Be told that cancellation will take up to 6 months!

Nexamp has delivered as promised--10% reduction in our electric supply charges. Invoicing was a bit rough at first but has smoothed out. It will be nice if they are able to send a combined invoice, but all is working well. Happy to be able to offset with solar energy. One year later: Around July and August of 2021, I stopped receiving solar credits on my NYSEG statement--no warning. Nexamp blamed a broken NYSEG meter. The meter was finally fixed around September and I am receiving solar credits again. I was promised that the missing months of solar credits would be applied to my electric usage, not lost. What I received was a bulk dump of "excess" solar credits that were not applied to the electric usage for which I owed $. After almost 6 months of multiple phone calls and a Public Service Commission complaint, NYSEG still refuses to apply those "excess" solar credits to my July and August usage. When challenged, all manner of excuses were presented by their resolution department, among which was the assertion that NEXAMP solar equipment is "breaking" their meters (oddly, only at 3 Nexamp sites). I re-established my PSC complaint but have heard nothing. Bottom line, I am caught between 2 companies accusing one another. I finally just paid my extremely high bill from NYSEG, losing my 10% discount and paying more for electric delivery, etc. for those months. I will add to this review if things are resolved. Meanwhile, I would confirm that your contract with NEXAMP will be honored in spite of circumstances for which you are not responsible and that any discrepancies or disagreements will be settled via NEXAMP customer service, per your contract. The time expenditure is not worth it, if not. I am contracted with the Newfield, NY NEXAMP community solar farm.

Signing up for Nexamp was one of the easiest and painless cost saving things we have ever done. It costs nothing to join and after a brief call to guage your electric shortage you start enjoying the 15% savings each month. I have recommended this to my son who is a first time homebuyer and I have nothing negative to say.....do it today.

My house is totally electric. I have been living in it for 50 years. Electric heat is wonderful.. It warms up so fast and we can decide what rooms we want to heat, each one is individual. Unfortunately, it is costly, but for the past few years we have been able to get a 15% reduction on our bill thanks to subscribing to Nexamp. It is a simple and effective way to save on heat. It is always helpful to see the credit when the bill arrives. I would recommend this way of saving to anyone who is interested.
