Only got to stay a couple of days this trip, but what a beautiful park. Anyone that wants a true "Florida Experience" should definitely get away from all the tourist attractions and enjoy what this state is really about.

Very beautiful, older park. Informative signs along the path give glimpses into the history that occured here. We brought our dog and she enjoyed the walk as well. Park was very clean and park staff are very friendly and helpful.

We went on mothers day, wasn't busy at all. Kind of woodsy little drive one the way in, that gives way to a smaller parking lot, sits just off a 50 or 60(guessing) acre pond, which is kind of marshy. Small playground for kids, swings & a slide, some BBQ grills & tables around to use, most are in the shade, overall its ok, nothing spectacular....

One of the best places to grab your bicycle and take a ride. We also took a boat ride on the lake and a person cannot describe the natural beauty this place has to offer, hated to leave there and go back home we will be back very soon

I didn't see any snakes. I didn't see anything except some squirrels. Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough.
Primitive camping in tents with no electricity at all. Own tent. Got this info from one of their rangers.$5.00 plus tax. Dogs are permitted.
Yes dogs are welcome at Fort Cooper as long as they are on a 6' handheld lease and are well behaved. Not allowed in the water. Alligators.
There is no dock, and us very shallow and weedy close to shore. They do rent kayaks +you cannot bring your own boat), so you could probably fish from one, but if your main goal is a fishing trip, this isn't the place
I'm not sure. But you can make reservations from 1 day to 11 months in advance. Go here for info: https://www.floridastateparks.org/stay-night
Not sure about that, sorry
Not sure best to call
I have not heard about that. Maybe, because when nesting the protect their nest
I didnt see any when I was there.
No Fort Cooper State Park does not have trails for horseback riding. Previous 3 comments are not correct.
Can I fish at state parks? Do I need a fishing license? Fishing locations are abundant in Florida's State Parks. Check the park's webpage for specific information. Visit the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's website to determine if you need a fishing license
I would refer to state park rules. I believe I have seen someone out there with one before.
There is a paved bike path that goes west out of the park to connect to the Withlacoochee Bike Trail.
$2 per person if you walk in, $3 per car if you drive in.
On leash and picked up after, yes.
I believe Fort Cooper park is $3 last time I was there in February.
I'm not sure, but local people always say good fishing starts after the 1st cold snap. ;)
