I LOVE this state park, its so clean and tidy I wish it was bigger but I often take the dogs and just do a few laps. Knowing less chance of alligators here, they have a new kayak launch form here also now that we have used a couple times. Yep, worth the visit, history is great, seeing the mounds and it's only $3 if you dont have a pass

Nice little museum at this small park. It's a fascinating story with the history of the site and the mystery of the native people that inhabited it. Park ranger was also very friendly. Easy walking paths and nice overlook view of the river.

For a small fee you can park and visit a small museum that will tell you about history of the mounds. There is some sad history about how the plowed down half the mound to create a trailer park. But today they are more respectful and have some interpretive signs. Doesn’t take more than an hour and half to to see the whole park.

Fun place to take a walk and learn a bit of history. The trail is paved and is a very easy walk. The only stairs you will have to do are on the main mound. I recommend trekking them since it gives you a wonderful view of the water. It also has a nature center with a friendly staff.
