Gorgeous hike all around. It’s not far from Denver and you feel so immersed in nature. Definitely worth the visit, and doable hike for anyone!

Cat Friendly. All dogs on leash and conscientious dog parents. Few things can beat a hike through the forest. Felt amazing to be in the forest as the rain fell. At one point we decided to turn around because we weren't sure where the storm was going. We were stopped waiting for a deer to cross the trail and the storm seemed to pass by. We went left, when we should have gone right because the sign made no sense. Trail was hard pack with areas of simple scramble. Manageable. The falls were not extremely impressive, but still rewarding to hear. Chipmunks are brazen. Saw hummingbirds and woodpeckers. Four Stars for confusing signage.

Expect about an hour hike from the Lower Trail to the falls. The people hiking here are very friendly. This last time I came I saw a lady that broke her ankle about half ways there. I just so happen to pass by as they were arriving. Please be careful and watch your step because there are some steep trails. Besides that the falls are very relaxing and you can sit next to them and eat some snacks while you cool down

It was a nice, kid friendly hike. Very pretty! It would be nice if the waterfall was a bit more viewable. To get to the bottom of it, with a better view is difficult with kids as you have to scramble over wet rocks (not something we were comfortable with). It would've been nice to have better signs...finding the falls was not as intuitive as I would have liked. Definitely have to listen and follow the sounds, there were no signs. Also had to find another way onto the trail because I didn't want kids getting shoes water- logged.

NEVER drink Creek water without approved treatment. Giardia has been present in Creek water throughout the Rockies for the past 30 or so years but water TX (purchased in camping stores) easily makes it drinkable. Happy Trails to you.
I've hiked between the lower Trailhead and the upper trailhead about 20 times, and never seen a bear or signs of a bear. However eight miles to the Northeast at corwina Park, near Lair of the bear, I have seen several bears. They were all very nice bears.
