Would be a nice library if it was open more often. Closed most of the time kids are out of school. Does not open on Sundays, as if it was a liquor store or some other vice.

The children section has a nice space to sit on the floor with a toddler and read board books.

Ordered some books in West Roxbury public library. Due to the pandemic they scheduled a curb pick up. Something came up and I couldn’t be there within the timeframe. I came right afterwards and called them while waiting outside. A gentleman was on the phone and said he was going to bring the books outside and right after he said that, he changed his mind and refused doing so. My son got so sad as he has been waiting patiently for these books as we put an order and waited for a while. How rude that was?! Would have cost him absolutely nothing by bringing the order outside and I was right there... instead I had one little bit full with tears in his eyes of the idea that he still can’t have his books in his hands that he has been waiting for so long. The staff is not very welcoming even on the phone every time I call. I used to be part of this library, but I’m feeling disappointed lately with their service.

Our locations do not have fax machines available for public use, but if you stop in, we can probably help you find a local business that can help you fax a document.
You can visit www.bpl.org anytime to search for titles you're interested in. Just use the search box right at the top of our website.
Our BPL To Go hours are 2 pm to 6 pm, Mon-Thu and 1 pm to 4 pm, Fridays. But you need to schedule your pickup in advance. It looks like all appointments for today are already scheduled. Please visit https://apps.bpl.org/bpltogo/ to schedule your pickup time.
Good news! As of 12/9/2020, our after-hours book returns are now open again at most locations.
We're not part of the Minuteman Library System, so an MLS library won't be able to check the book back in from your account. They would likely, as a courtesy, ship the book back to us, but it's better if you return it to one of our locations listed on https://www.bpl.org to make sure it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. Don't worry about returning it quickly though. We're not charging overdue fines or fees through the end of 2020. And you will still be able to use our services if you have items out past their due date.
Our locations are currently closed for in-person browsing, but you can place holds on items and schedule a time to pick them up when ready. We are also providing a limited number of computers for public access at our Central Library. For details, and to stay up-to-date on service additions, please see our website at https://www.bpl.org.
We often have many tax forms available at the Central Library in Copley Square, though sometimes we run out of certain forms. Branch libraries like West Roxbury are unlikely to have printed forms available for you, but at any location, we're glad to help you download and print the forms and instructions you need using our public access computers.
Yes! Printing and copying at our locations costs $0.15 per page. Where available, color copying costs $0.75 per page. https://www.bpl.org/faq/printing-copying-and-scanning/#faq_167830
You can call the library at 1-617-325-3147
The short answer is no. I would check with the South End Branch.
