Live in the area my whole life and the park has always been a great place to do some fishing or go for a walk. If you do walk around the lake try to stay out of the road as much as you can as I see so many ppl walking in the middle of the road. Also if your walking your dog please pick up after it.

Love the place but not all the dog owners , some actually leave there dog off leash !! And some have no common courtesy to give a wide berth when another dog is approaching. Other than that it's a beautiful place , four laps with my dog is just about 3 Miles which is perfect . It's safe and an easy walk with a dog .

Tucked away in a sleepy little neighbourhood of Western Cranston, sandwiched between Cranston West High School and US 295 is one of Rhode Island's gems. A man made concrete bottom pond originally constructed as a novelty to sell houses Meshanticut Lake has since transformed into an oasis of green tranquility complete with meditation spots, stocked trout and bass and a somewhat over friendly population of ducks, geese and swans. Many aspiring angler of all ages has perfected their cast here while the more experienced ones find great solace in stretching out on a log for a leisurely afternoon of catch and release. Locals often walk or jog the scenic pond for exercise. Smack in the middle of the city it's a great place to escape the hustle for a few hours. Maybe feed the ducks. Maybe steal a kiss. Maybe recharge your batteries. This is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Beautiful park! 0.8 mi Loop around Lake Meshanticut! Great place to walk, run, walk your dog, or go fishing! Highly recommend this local gem tucked away in a quiet neighborhood!
