A must do Mecca-like experience for any antique bottle hound. Excellent displays detailing the design, production, sealing, and dating of bottles. Shelves full of nearly every shape, size, color, and type of bottle. Wonderful irradiated and Vaseline glass displays. Absolutely free or donate a few dollars and adopt and take home an orphan antique bottle!

Highly recommend! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and took great precautions for COVID. There are many bottles anything from milk bottles, old soda to medicine and remedy bottles! Everything for no admission price. I plan to revisit to see the new exhibits and hopefully adopt a bottle!

A wide variety of hand blown bottles awaits you here with an energetic explanation from the proprietor of every aspect of the bottle making process from days gone by. Walls of bottles and on the first floor and artistic pieces upstairs - this is a surprising gem. Donate $5 to "adopt" a bottle to take home!

I read a short article from Jack Stecher on Cleaning Labeled Bottles. In it he mentioned you could use acid free plastic wrap to protect the labeling after you've finished cleaning the bottles. Can you recommend a brand or where to find this product?

One of the main brands is Uline. You could also check with Gaylord Archival. The easiest place to find both of these is online.

I have a soda bottle from the Sans Souci Spring bottled by J W Peshette. Marking on the bottom: 2924, E, 57 and maybe Anchor Glass logo. Can you estimate the age of this bottle?

I'm going to guess that the bottle has an applied color label, sometimes called a painted label on it, not a paper label. Is that true? What does the Anchor Glass logo look like? Is it an anchor with an H over it? Then, it likely dates to post-1938. If it's something different, I'd need more information to hazard a guess. I just found information that says that Peshette retubed the spring, possibly in the 1950's, and bottled until the time of his death in 1967. Hope this is helpful. Gary, NBM

I have an old bottle that’s about 12 inches tall and it says Virden s campfire. Ironically it was found in ashes from the camp fire that destroyed the town of Paradise California in November. Can anyone suggest lowering the history of this bottle?

Not sure if anyone has answered this. Some questions - color? Shape? Any other markings, including on the bottom? Lip shape?

Yes we do, but there are rules we need to follow. Are you the woman who called this PM?

I have a hand blown bottle that appears to be black opalescent or black amethyst. Very heavy with a clear glass base and is shaped like a canteen. It stands about 10" tall and 8" wide. Would anyone at your museum know it's origin?

Is there any embossing on it? Any marks on the bottom? Can you send a picture?
