Love their garlic. We bought about six pounds last year, planted 96 cloves in raised beds and ate our way through the rest of them well into spring. Low and behold, all 96 cloves sprouted as the snow was melting, they're now well above knee high and the first garlic scapes are showing - I honestly never thought I'd be this excited about garlic but here we are. Can't wait to harvest our own and replant some for next year. I can't recommend Green Mountain Garlic enough.

A bunch of kinds of garlic. I made some garlic habanero hot sauce with the garlic we got there. The cloves were enormous!!!

Questions & Answers

When separating the cloves for planting, do you leave the skins on, or plant 'em bare necked??

Try and leave them on, but if some of them come off it's ok to plant them.

Recently planted my garlic bed. What do you recommend I cover it with?

I would recommend leaves or weed free straw. Pine needles are too acidic, garlic likes a high pH around 7. If you live on the coast you can use seaweed to mulch.
