I adore this library and take my daughter several times a week. The expansion is absolutely beautiful and will allow this already amazing library to offer more programs that will benefit the community. The children’s section is especially wonderful, seeing as that’s where I spend most of my time when I am there! In addition, the entire staff is wonderful and accommodating. I am so pleased to have this incredible library in our community. Tax dollars put to GREAT use!! Also, I’d like to note, I am a full time resident of this wonderful community and a supporter of intellectualism (which libraries promote).

I honestly cannot believe someone gave this library a 1 star review so I feel compelled to add a review of my own. This library is amazing!!!! I absolutely love everything about it, and all the staff as well. They do a wonderful job running creative and enjoyable programs for the community. To the one star poster, if all you keep drawing is the woe is me card, you might want to try reshuffling that deck. I too am also a full time hard working resident. For the record most of us are totally ok with a library closing early during a weather event so that everyone can get home safe and sound. Just saying.

MY SON AND I TOOK A TOUR OF THE ICHABOD CRANE SCHOOL 1850, JAMES VANDERPOEL HOUSE 1810, LUYKAS VAN ALEN HOUSE 1737 AND THE KINDERHOOK MEMORIAL LIBRARY 1929. IF YOU DO ALL FOUR TOURS IT ONLY COST $15 FOR ADULTS. UNDER 12 YEARS OLD IS FREE. WHAT IS REALLY NICE IS ONLY MINUTES AWAY IS THE MARTIN VAN BUREN HOUSE (OUR 8TH PRESIDENT) THAT IS A FREE TOUR. SO YOU CAN SPEND A GREAT DAY IN KINDERHOOK OR JUST STOP BY TO VISIT THIS WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL HISTORIC LIBRARY AND ENJOY READING A BOOK OR NEWS PAPER IN THEIR QUIET ROOM AS THE TOWNS PEOPLE HAVE BEEN DOING FOR THE PAST 90 YEARS.

Yes, we’ve been open normal hours for all types of library use since July 2021.

Does the library accept books for its sale in spring though the year? I am having to downsize, and would like to give a fairly large number of books for the sale. Thank you
